Dr. Brenda McClelland is a 1997 graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary School. She is a Colorado native, born and raised in Pueblo, CO. She developed her own holistic therapy practice for people and pets over the last eight years. Dr. Brenda predominantly uses Reiki and Healing Touch to support traditional medicine. These therapies are forms of energy work, like acupuncture without the needles, and can be used to support the body through times of stress or illness. Dr. Brenda writes a holistic therapy column for Cat Fancy magazine as well as feature articles on different medical topics. Her work was featured in the book The Angel By My Side, the story of a Golden Retriever who alerts people to impending heart attacks.
Dr. Mary E. Cahill is a 2003 graduate of Colorado State University Veterinary School. She is a native of the state, born and raised in southern Colorado. Dr. Mary has practiced small, large and exotic animal medicine before finding her niche here at The Pet Wellness Clinic. She enjoys internal medicine, dentistry as well as emergency medicine. Along the way she has acquired 3 dogs--a red bone hound named Daisy, a beagle named Honey and an elderly three-legged yorkie named Pockets. She has 2 male cats (Truck Stop Tom and Tugie). She also has a canary named Sunny and 2 chickens. In her spare time she likes to look for antiques and native American artifacts.
Melissa Rechner, CVT moved to Colorado five years ago from Boston, Massachusetts. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2004 with a degree in Natural Resource Management and worked in wildlife management for several years before returning to school for her degree in Veterinary Technology. She graduated from Front Range Community College in the summer of 2009. In her free time she enjoys horseback riding, skiing and camping as well as spending time with her two cats Pepito and Abby, two Australian tree frogs Cheech and Itza and three horses Tikal, Whiskers and Lachlan.
